Jessica’s work takes inspiration from nature and the animal world. Her long-standing interest in fashion, as well as fine and costume jewellery, also heavily influences her ideas.
Since completing her B.A. degree in Glass & Ceramics in 2006 through the University of Sunderland at the National Glass Centre, Jessica has found success in a number of competitions, undertaking a variety of exciting commissions for a diverse group of clients. Her ability to adapt and change her style to meet specific briefs, whilst still retaining a distinctive look to her work, is an important factor in her success. Whilst she enjoys the diversity and challenge of meeting a wide range of such commissions, Jessica’s real passion is for designing and making cast and kiln-formed glass.
Strong drawing skills underpin all aspects of Jessica’s work, as can be seen through her designs and her use of transfers applied directly on to glass.
