Emphatic and revealing, Canadian artist Trevor Jones paints with a remarkable awareness and sincerity. Layers of thought are built up with paint, which is mixed with various other media as he responds intuitively to the world around him. Working in a unique, free flowing manner while incorporating rhythms and patterns, text and textures, the paintings evolve until the essence of the subject matter contemplated reveals itself. Both challenging and rewarding, each piece is approached individually yet a powerful coherency threads its way through his very distinctive style. Trevor graduated with distinction from EdinburghUniversity’s MA Fine Art programme in 2008. He is assistant director for the Scottish charitable organisation Art In Healthcare and teaches part time at Leith School of Art.
